Pressemeldung der Kaupthing Bank: Neue Mitglieder im Winding-up Committee (WUC)

6. Januar 2012

Hier die Meldung im Wortlaut:

As of the beginning of the year, resolution committees appointed to financial undertakings ceased to exist in accordance with legislative changes made last year. Consequently, the Winding-up Committee has assumed all responsibility for managing the Kaupthing estate as of 1 January 2012.
The Winding-up Committee requested that the District Court of Reykjavik increased the number of members of the Winding-up Committee from two to four. The Court approved the request by appointing Johannes Runar Johannsson, Supreme Court Attorney and Theodor S. Sigurbergsson, CPA, former members of Kaupthing’s Resolution Committee, to the Winding-up Committee.  As of today, the members of the Winding-up Committee are: David B. Gislason, Feldis Lilja Oskarsdottir, Johannes Runar Johannsson and Theodor S. Sigurbergsson.
The creditors of Kaupthing have emphasized the importance of completing the restructuring of Kaupthing as expeditiously as possible. The increased number of members of the Winding-up Committee at this point strengthens the Committee in handling important tasks ahead, including managing restructuring work and continuing to preserve and maximize the value of Kaupthing’s assets. This will ensure that the operations of Kaupthing are minimally disrupted and continuity is assured despite the fact that Kaupthing’s Resolution Committee has been disbanded by law.
